Greenfields Turf is a speciality grower of sod for California landscape. Greenfields Turf has created its name on quality sod and personalized service. Grown in the Salinas Valley, this climate provides an ideal growing ground for cool season turf grasses. Through intensive breeding and cross-breeding of the Turf Type Tall Fescues by plant breeders, the original Enduro sod has been refined into a new generation that provides a darker green color, finer texture and lower growth while keeping the hardy nature and lower water needs of its original ancestors. Dwarf Enduro is a new generation of sod that is well-suited to the climate and soil demands of Northern and Central California for today and for tomorrow.

Heat and Wear Tolerant Dwarf Enduro has a high tolerance to both heat and wear compared with other cool season grasses. Shade Tolerant Dwarf Enduro prefers a sunny location but will perform better in light shade situations than bluegrass or rye. About 4 hours of direct sunlight per day will keep Dwarf Enduro healthy. Color Dwarf Enduro maintains a deep, rich green color throughout the year when cared for properly. Disease Dwarf Enduro is resistant to most common bladegrass diseases such as leaf spot, rust and fusarium roseum. Dwarf Enduro also shows an important tolerance to brown patch.

Blueridge Traditional 80 percent bluegrass/20 percent ryegrass blend. This is the traditional sod that has a slightly softer feel and finer texture than the Dwarf Enduro. Blueridge is perfect for those areas that have a high ornamental value such as English and Japanese gardens. Blueridge is not recommended for high traffic areas or play areas and should be used where beauty and aesthetics are most important.

Color Blueridge will maintain a deep, rich green color year-round. With proper fertilization and water, its color and natural beauty is what sets it apart from other sod varieties.

Shade Blueridge tolerates a little shade, but prefers a more sunny location.

Disease Blueridge is resistant to most diseases. During the cool months, rust would still be a concern. Turf that is properly watered, mowed and fertilized is much less likely to be affected by disease.

Bonsai Sod Because of high consumer demand, Greenfields Turf now offers 100 percent Bonsai Double Dwarf sod. This newer variety of dwarf fescues has been proven to have a lower overall growth habit than most other varieties of dwarf fescues. This feature is often requested for new sod lawns particularly for residential use. The color is green all year long but is slightly less durable and shade tolerant than our standard Enduuro Dwarf sod blend.
